New Year - New Toll Hike from Port Authority of NY & NJ
Port Authority of NY & NJ that operates our Bridges & Tunnels decided to raise tolls entering Manhattan in January of 2023. We were paying arm & a leg now you have to give them your neck with it. New York Area tolls probably most expensive tolls in a country. I remember paying $3.50 for a Brooklyn Battery Tunnel with the options of paying with cash or ez pass with even bigger discount. Well times certainly changed. No more toll booths, No more friendly toll collector agents that we used to know by name. Now everyone just zooms through paying tripple amount. There’s no way to enter New York without paying a toll for a Bridge or a Tunnel. Here we put together a little table of New 2023 Toll Rates for New Jersey Crossings that went up.

Some Sprinters and Buses come with Dual Rear Wheels. Tolls increase on those Vehicles. Peak Hours with Ez Pass is $40.00, Off Peak with Ez Pass $38.00 and Tolls by Mail all hours is $46.00. We will charge you Regular Rate.
This Tolls are Hudson Crossings Tolls (George Washington Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel, Holland Tunnel, Bayonne Bridge, Goethals Bridge & Outerbridge Crossing) and applies only to enter New York. You don't pay when you entering New Jersey.
Next Toll Hike from Port Authority is scheduled to be on January 7, 2024 then January 4, 2026. It doesn’t stop. Hopefully we will see some improvements so we can see our money being spent right. But in reality they just probably going to hire more cops and give out more tickets. Drive Careful.
New Jersey Turnpike & Garden State Parkway are following their bigger brothers footsteps.
- The average turnpike toll for passenger cars increased from $4.95 to $5.10. Peak period EZ Pass tolls are up from $5.62 to $5.79, and off-peak E-ZPass rates increased from $4.22 to $4.35. And Garden State Parkway tolls increase from $1.96 for E-ZPass customers to $2.02 and from $2 to $2.10 for those paying cash.
